Never heard of the DNA Vibrators? You are not alone.
Welcome to....
SEPTEMBER MARKS THE THIRD ANNIVERSARY OF THE HUMBLE BEGINNINGS OF THIS WEBSITE----WHY IS DNA-CYBER-SHOUTING??

  The Shape of Things to
Have Come and Gone

the website and blog of the DNA Vibrator

Just who are the DNA Vibrators? The DNA Vibrators began 14 years ago, when three old bastards, Mr. Kamikaze, H.O.G., and the DNA Vibrator, long time fixtures in several Carbondale, Il and Chicago bands, wanted to play stuff that didn't fit in their other bands. In the summer of 1995, they played one show. That Christmas, they attempted to play another show, but the DNA Vibrator nearly died on the way in a car accident. The show was canceled. In 2005, they played another show, kind of an "old guys" reunion thing. Then, in September of 2006, DNA revived itself like Frankenstein's monster using the electron gun at the back of the CRT it stares at each day, and started this blog and website. DNA was never really gone, just sidetracked for a dozen years or so.

At this point in their careers, the DNA Vibrators have produced more albums than they have played out shows, the epitome of the American dream. Guess what? Last show: August 9, 2008, at the Hangar 9 in Carbondale, IL. More albums are on the way, too, so the album-to-show ratio will remain appropriately unbalanced. The DNA Vibrator is under no illusions. It is barely functional, well past its prime, an out-of-date innovation even 20 years ago.  However, like an oil derrick which keeps pumping in an abandoned oil field, black goo slowly keeps welling up from its pen.

DNA is slowly completing the new record. Every week, a new title. In the event that the Hand Of God Attachment can't make a recording session, DNA will have to slop through the final overdubs and guitar solos himself. Yeah, that sucks, but DNA waits for no man.

DNA's educational side project, The Akkademiks, has been selling like hotcakes on CD Baby and iTunes. DNA wished it was selling more like a record---ba-dum, crash! You want to know lots more about Geology, right? Of course you do. This is how to do it funkily.

THE AKKADEMIKS: The Akkademiks....ROCK!

If you would rather have your crappy music free, then click below on the link for the Nightsoil Coolies' album,

"Libertini." The full album and all artwork is available by clicking wherever you want on the martini-drinking libertine in the picture above. You're welcome!

The last DNA record, "The Result Of Continuous Exposure To Radiation" has changed the world, if you didn't know. And you most likely wouldn't know, because the change was so subtle and so encompassing that the new world feels so naturally like it is supposed to that no one can now imagine what the old world was like before the record was released. However, built into the record is the map which your unconscious can access to construct the world as it was before, if you choose to be disillusioned with the new world order. Look at the picture of lab rats. Click on it. Then, DNA dares you to listen to it, thereby staring eternity in the face. Horrible, and beautiful. Meaning, eternity is horrible and beautiful, not the record. The record is just rock and roll.

Sordid tales of the SIU-Carbondale music scene.  Additionally, it's chock full of rants and pseudo-religious and philosophic crap (more fun than it sounds).

Myoo-SICK REVUES. Updated!
This is where DNA talks about other bands. When you're an internet creature, like DNA, then you can't help but have an opinion or two about your medium. It's like a fish not talking about water. Okay, fish don't talk.

TIPS For The Traveling Band Updated!

DNA doesn't advertise for anyone, except itself. It is no whore. But it also pays its debts. If it wasn't for Monstee at Monstee's Cave, DNA would not have started this, whatever this, is.
